Flowering apple trees

Find our collection of ornamental apple trees near the Étang aux Hérons (Herons Pond).

Flowers and fruits

Grouped together in the middle of the horticultural zone, on the south-east bank of the Étang aux Hérons, these trees have two interesting periods each year: in the spring their branches are covered with a bold blossom, and then from autumn until winter many colourful berries can be seen.

The collection of ornamental apple trees is made up of more than 35 varieties with huge numbers of flowers, ranging in colour from bright white to pink and purplish-red, and fruits ranging from yellow to purple.

These small trees, often with gnarled silhouettes, can have spherical or weeping shapes, while some proudly raise their branches towards the sky. In the winter, the fruits of these trees attract birds, squirrels and other animals of the Arboretum.
